Wethouder Mink zwijgt na blunder over betaald avondparkeren
De SP-wethouder van mobiliteit zorgde onlangs nog voor commotie door kinderachtig te reageren via twitter inzake het betaald avondparkeren in Arnhem. Hij liet weten dat er tegenwoordig in de eigen garages van de gemeente geparkeerd kon worden voor 50 cent per uur en dat dit aan het Velperplein 2,20 per uur is. Hij sloot zijn tweet af met #ikbentochnietgek .
Heel Arnhem tegen
Wethouder Mink begrijpt het allemaal nog steeds niet. Heel Arnhem is tegen betaald avondparkeren, terwijl hij doet alsof er niets aan de hand is. Er is veel onbegrip en onrust bij de bezoekers van de binnenstad. Natuurlijk zijn er ook veel fietsenden voorstanders van betaald avondparkeren, die geen auto hebben of loopafstand van de binnenstad wonen. Waaronder ook veel raadsleden.
VVD kritiek
Wethouder Mink kreeg veel kritiek via twitter. Vooral commissielid Steffenie Pape (VVD) was heel duidelijk: ‘Sinds wanneer is schofferen van ondernemers humor? Eerder onfatsoenlijk. VVD Arnhem staat voor een gastvrije stad.’ En raadslid Roeland van der Zee twitterde ook al eerder dat ruzie zoeken met private parkeergarages ongepast is voor een wethouder.
De wethouder reageerde niet meer inhoudelijk op alle kritiek die hij kreeg. Mogelijk volgt dat nog later.
