24 juni debat over basisinkomen in Rozet
In steeds meer steden starten experimenten met een vorm van basisinkomen. Hierbij zou iedere Nederlander maandelijks een geldbedrag van de overheid krijgen als basis om van te kunnen leven. Moet Arnhem hierin Wageningen en Nijmegen volgen? Wat zijn precies de voor- en nadelen? D66 en SP organiseren 24 juni een debat in Rozet om daar achter te komen.
Voorstanders claimen dat een basisinkomen bestaanszekerheid garandeert, werkloosheid vermindert en voor een betere balans tussen betaald en onbetaald werk. Bovendien kan het basisinkomen zorgen voor een enorme versimpeling van het belastingstelsel en onze verbureaucratiseerde verzorgingsstaat. Critici hekelen de economische haalbaarheid en betwijfelen of een basisinkomen uitvoerbaar is. Of is het vooral een principekwestie?
Voor- en tegenstanders
In dit Politiek Café gaan Paul Ulenbelt (SP, Tweede Kamerlid), Sjir Hoeijmakers (Initiatief ‘Maak basisinkomen mogelijk’) en Micha Snijder (D66, initiatiefnemer van de proef in Wageningen) met elkaar en het publiek in debat. Het debat wordt geleid door journalist en betrokken Arnhemmer Paul Baeten.
