Volgens burgemeester Kaiser van Arnhem heeft de heer Comak inmiddels een verzoek ingediend voor een ‘Drank- en horecavergunning en exploitatievergunning’.
Cafe Merkez heeft al veel verschillende eigenaren gehad door al die jaren heen. Het is gebruikelijk bij de gemeente dat de aanvraag van een Drank- en horecavergunning openbaar wordt gemaakt zodat inwoners van de stad hiervan op de hoogte kunnen zijn. Ook kunnen zij hun voornemen schriftelijk of mondeling kenbaar maken bij de afdeling Vergunning en Toezicht van de gemeente Arnhem.
