Clubman Sayilgan neemt afscheid als bestuurslid van AFC Arnhem
Bestuurslid Yener Sayilgan van AFC Arnhem, ook en tevens ex-voorzitter van voetbalclub ESCA, is geen bestuurslid meer bij AFC Arnhem. De flamboyante Arnhemmer, ook ‘Baskan (voorzitter) genoemd, heeft zich vijf jaar lang ingezet voor de voetbalclubs ESCA en AFC Arnhem.
‘Veel successen geboekt met vrijwilligers’
Via social media kwam Sayilgan met een emotionele reactie en bedankte hij iedereen die in zijn periode actief was voor de clubs. ‘We hebben samen met andere vrijwilligers veel successen geboekt en ook mindere tijden overleefd.’
Ondanks veel zware en mindere tijden was Sayilgan ook zeer tevreden over zijn periode als bestuurslid bij ESCA en AFC Arnhem omdat hij veel nieuwe mensen heeft leren kennen en daar vriendschappen aan heeft overgehouden. Hij bedankte daarom ook iedereen waar hij mee heeft gewerkt en kwam ook met het advies aan anderen om dit soort maatschappelijke (sport)functies uit te voeren, omdat je er ook als mens beter van wordt. Sayilgan neemt geen afscheid van AFC Arnhem, hij zal alleen niet meer als bestuurslid actief zijn.
Voorzitter voetbalclub ESCA
Als voorzitter van ESCA, was Sayilgan belangrijk voor de club door de fusie met AFC Arnhem in goede banen te lijden. In zijn periode daarvoor, was hij samen met anderen bereid om ESCA te helpen en weer een nieuw leven in te blazen. ESCA kende een periode waarin het veel (financiele) problemen had. Behalve als bestuurslid, was Yener Sayilgan ook een echte clubman omdat hij altijd klaarstond voor iedereen. Ook weten we van insiders dat Sayilgan nog steeds zelf goed kan voetballen, en regelmatig wordt vergeleken met de Italiaan Pirlo.
Via social media regende het dankwoorden en steunbetuigingen, toen bekend werd dat Sayilgan afscheid neemt als bestuurslid van AFC Arnhem.
