Verbouwing Dierense moskee over een maand afgerond (Check Foto”s)
De verbouwing van de moskee in Dieren zal nog waarschijnlijk een maand duren. Vrijwilligers en bestuursleden zijn op dit moment nog druk bezig om de laatste werkzaamheden uit te voeren. De moskee aan de enkweg in Dieren heeft na de verbouwing er een 2e verdieping bijgekregen.
De Selimye moskee werd in 1999 geopend, waarna vrij snel al duidelijk was dat de locatie te klein was voor de verschillende gebruikers van de moskee. Desondanks duurde het nog jaren voordat er een begin werd gemaakt met de bouw van de 2e verdieping.
Multifunctionele 2e verdieping in moskeegebouw
Inmiddels is de 2e verdieping zo goed als klaar. De multifunctionele 2e verdieping zal extra vierkante meters aan ruimte creeren voor de bezoekers en de gebruikers van de moskee. Zo komt er ook een ontmoetingsruimte voor vrouwen en jongeren. Ook kan de 2e verdieping met speciale wandsystemen makkelijk omgetoverd worden in drie aparte leslokalen.
De financiering van de verbouwing van de Selmiye moskee is volledig gedaan met eigen middelen, giften van leden en inwoners van Dieren.
