SML-speler Zeyrek gaat niet naar Turkse topclub Besiktas
SML-speler Akin Zeyrek blijft ‘gewoon’ bij SML voetballen. Zeyrekt speelt tegenwoordig in de A-jeugd van SML en is een bepalende speler in de selectie van de Arnhemse club. De Turkse talent van SML werd onlangs in verband gebracht met een transfer naar de Turkse topclub Besiktas.
Helemaal toevallig was dit natuurlijk niet. De Turkse topclub heeft een eigen fanclub in Nederland. De voorzitter van de fanclub van Besiktas is een familielid van een bekende bestuurslid van de topclub. Vorige week werd ook bekend dat een jeugdspeler van Engelen op proef mocht bij Besiktas. Bronnen dichtbij de speler melden dat de voorzitter van de Turkse ondernemers Vereniging in Arnhem, Aziz Zeyrek, deze twee voorzitters ook toevallig persoonlijk kent.
Akin Zeyrek ontkent zelf dat er interesse was van Besiktas: ‘Ik weet niets van een eventuele interesse van een andere club. Ben pas eerste jaar een A-speler en blijf gewoon voetballen bij SML. Akin Zeyrek eindigde als tweede in de competitie in de vierde divisie met de A-junioren van SML.
