Vanwege het vastenmaand Ramadan gaan de meeste moslims in Arnhem voor warm Ramadan-brood tijdens het verbreken van het vasten rond tien uur in de avond. Dan is de avondmaaltijd net even iets lekkerder dan met bruin brood van de Albert Heijn. ‘Het lijkt wel alsof half Arnhem hier is om Ramadan-brood te halen’, aldus een klant.
Bakkerij Divan staat bekend om haar verse Ramadan-brood dat alleen tijdens de Ramadan wordt aangeboden. Omdat de meeste Arnhemmers geijktijdig eten draait de bakker overuren om iedereen zoveel mogelijk warm brood aan te bieden. Vaak kom je dan ook bekenden tegen tijdens het wachten. Zo kwamen we vandaag Adem Yildirim van restaurant Nisantasi en politieagent Ahmet Yesil tegen.
En zaterdagavond werd het wachten extra beloond dankzij live ‘Turkish’ muziek dat werd gedraaid aan de overkant bij cafe TAPE.
