Veel Arnhemmers op de receptie van het Turkse consulaat Zafer Ates
In Deventer werd de stichting van de Turkse republiek 1923 uitbundig met een receptie gevierd.
Verplaatsing locatie door drukte
Tot vorig jaar werd deze receptie gevierd in de Schouwburg van Deventer. Doordat het vorig jaar al was opgevallen dat de zaal de drukte niet aankon, is er gekozen voor een andere locatie. Dit jaar is er gekozen voor het Sandton IJsselhotel aan de gelegen aan de buitenrand van Deventer.
Betrokkenheid Consul Zafer Ates en zijn vrouw
De avond begon met de inloop waar de aanwezigen konden beginnen met een hapje en drankje. De officiële start werd gemaakt door Consul Generaal Zafer Ates. Na zijn speech die hij eerst in het Turks en vervolgens in het Engels hield, was er ruimte om elkaar te spreken en op de foto te gaan. Zafer Ates heeft samen met zijn vrouw Ayla Ates alle aanwezige gasten persoonlijk verwelkomd, kort gesproken en foto’s gemaakt.
Veel bekende Arnhemmers aanwezig
De avond bestond uit veel bekende gezichten uit Arnhem en omgeving. Veel politici, bestuurders en ondernemers waren aanwezig op de receptie. Onder andere waren de volgende namen aanwezig: Rahmi Gemril (Gemril Pluimveehouderij), Aziz Zeyrek (ondernemer en voorzitter Turkse Ondernemers Vereniging), Galip Aydemir(voorzitter Turkiyem moskee Arnhem), Ismail Bayram (bestuurslid Turkiyem moskee), Ömer Bulut(Restaurant Troya Arnhem), Ali Topaloglu, Adil Karakaya (Olde Beth Weddings), Serkan Özyilmaz(Carcleaning Arnhem), Turgay Tankir (Ex-PvdA wethouder), Mehmet Sahan (PvdA raadslid).
