Wijkagent Eric Hortensius maakte eergisteren melding van een hennepkwekerij dat werd ontdekt dankzij de warmtebeeldcamera van een politiehelikopter in Arnhem.

Helikopter vloog over Geitenkamp
De helikopter vloog ’toevallig’ boven de Geitenkamp en zag dat een woning ongebruikelijk warm was in vergelijking met andere woningen. Agenten gingen later een kijkje nemen aan de Sperwerstraat en troffen een grote hennepkwekerij aan met 342 planten. Ook zijn er twee mensen aangehouden. Wat hun rol precies was is niet bekend gemaakt.
Amateurkwekers met slechte isolatie
Met de warmtebeeldcamera kan de politie makkelijker ‘warme punten’ lokaliseren in een wijk. Vaak gaat het dan hierbij om een hennepkwekerij. Sommige amateur-kwekers hebben een slechte isolatie waardoor warmte via deuren en ramen alsnog naar buiten gaat. De politie komt daarna vrij snel langs op de locatie waar veel meer ‘warmte’ is dan gebruikelijk.
