(Politiek) Arnhem viert feest nadat bekend werd gemaakt dat 64,7% van de Arnhemmers voor stemde. Op foto’s op social media regende het bedankjes en foto’s van verschillende bekende Arnhemmers en politici.
CDA en D66 zeer tevreden met uitslag
Bij D66 en het CDA waren ze enorm blij toen bekend werd dat een meerderheid van de Arnhemmers voor stemde tijdens het referendum. Henk Montrfooy (CDA), Sabine Andeweg (D66) en Hans de Vroome (D66) waren dolblij.

Advocaat Bart van Meer van Dirkzwager was ook opgelucht: ‘Bijna 65% heeft ja gestemd voor plan Meinerswijk. Opluchting! Arnhem kan weer vooruit met een fantastisch plan. Architect Bart van den Hoven was ook gelukkig: ‘Historisch moment voor Arnhem, inwoners kiezen voor JA!(64,7%). Eindelijk vooruit en een prachtig park voor iedereen.’

John Swelsen was fair en feliciteerde alle voorstanders.’Duidelijke uitslag. Felicitataties aan voorstanders. Dat er wijs met het mandaat mag worden omgegaan. Hans de Vroome (D66) en wethouder Elfrink omhelsden elkaar zelfs toen bekend werd dat Arnhem voor had gestemd (zie foto hieronder). Wethouder Elfrink: ‘De uitslag is binnen. Alle stemmers bedankt! Ja is het antwoord. Arnhem bedankt!
Bij Groenlinks hadden ze niet veel zin om, net als voor het referendum, op allerlei twitter berichten te reageren: ‘Nee-stemmers bedankt! Wij blijven ons inzetten voor een groen Stadsblokken-Meinerswijk.” VVD fractievoorzitter Leendert Combee had geen zin meer in nieuwe referenda: ‘Prachtige uitslag referendum; duidelijk Ja, top. En…. op hoogtepunt stoppen: geen referenda meer in Arnhem!” Het CDA reageerde kort maar krachtig: ‘Einduitslag 64,7% voor!!! HOERRRAAA…”
