´Turkenvriend´ Burgemeester Herman Kaiser nog steeds te ziek
Burgemeester Herman Kaiser werd al voordat hij naar Arnhem kwam ´Turkenvriend´ genoemd. De burgemeester van Arnhem, was eerder burgemeester in Roermond en Doetinchem waar hij ook nauwe contacten onderhield met de Turkse gemeenschap. Ook in deze andere steden was Herman Kaiser geliefd door de stad.
Nog steeds te ziek
Waarnemend burgemeester Boele Staal vertelde tijden de nieuwjaarsreceptie van de gemeente dat Herman Kaiser voorlopig nog niet zal terugkeren in het stadhuis. Kaiser ligt namelijk ziek thuis, vanwege hevige heupklachten.
Onduidelijk of hij terugkomt
Kaiser meldde zich in september ziek vanwege ernstige heupklachten. Wat de klachten precies waren, werd niet bekend gemaakt. Zijn herstel gaat volgens verschillende bronnen niet zoals het hoort, waardoor het niet duidelijk is wanneer en of Kaiser terugkeert als burgemeester van Arnhem.
Kaiser kreeg wel een enorme applaus tijdens de nieuwjaarsreceptie en een toespraak van Staal waarin hij Kaiser een spoedig herstel wenste.
